Alaska

That's the plan. Get to Alaska. Once I settled on Alaska (instead of say, Thailand or Costa Rica), I knew I had to act fast. It's already mid-August. Alaskan Winter can start now. The weather is not going to get any better (depending on how you look at it, I suppose). So now's the time, man!

I've been collecting gear for the trip for the last month. I'll discuss all that later, but I'll say that this trip's lodging isn't going to include any hotels. I'm talkin' sleeping in my tent, the camper bed of my truck, the couches of kind folk, and any other nooks and crannies that can help stretch my funds and keep me close to the ground with the good people of America.

The trip will begin in two days with a high-speed burn from Southern California to quick stops at San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and Anchorage. After that, it gets looser. I'll keep you posted.

Give us a call if you get to Fairbanks. I am Chee Chee's niece and have lived here for over 40 years.

Hope you have a safe trip.
