Portland is an Alternate Universe

I've never been to a town like Portland. It's got a warm friendliness that is instantly infectious. Almost every person on the street looked me in the eye and smiled. Most said "hi" and quite a few struck up an easy conversation. Maybe I'm just a jaded punk from LA, but I was blown out of the water. I kept on waiting for the other shoe to drop. Never did.

Kari and Lisa rock as hard as Portland, and that's saying a lot, because Portland is sweet. I had a great time staying with these awesome friends o' mine. They took me to Tillamook, cheese-factorying, hiking, bar-ing and corn-holing (a bean-bag game, nothing dirty, except the ensuing jokes).

This is Heather doing it on stage at Roots Brewery.

The Cape Outlook Hike:

This is an amazing hike out to the tip of a penninsula with a winding trail that takes you to the edge of a 600 foot drop to the ocean below. It gives you a high view of the Oregon Coastline that must be 30 miles in both directions.

Lisa. Sweet as can be, but watch out if she's eating pudding.
